International contests:
- Robocup 2000 - The Robot World Cup
Initiative is an international joint project to promote AI, robotics, and related
field. It uses soccer games as a central topic of research, aiming at innovations to
be applied for socially significant problems and industries. The ultimate goal of the
RoboCup project is by 2050, develop a team of fully autonomous humaoid robot that can
win against the human world champion team in soccer.
- FIRA Robot World Cup Australia
2000 - The Federation of International Robot-Soccer Association competitions that
includes four categories of competition: MiroSot (7.5 cm), NaroSot (4 cm), KhepperaSot
and RoboSot.
- 2000 Robot Olympiad - The International Robot
Olympiad games includes shooting, building, racing, adventure, maze, taekwondo and
soccer.
- Festival
International des Sciences et Technologies - Several types of contests, held
usually in France (but also in
Portugal).
- Lunar
Robotic Construction Competition - Promoted by NASA, Sandia National
Laboratories, and the American Society of Civil Engineers, seeks to challenge
students in non space related disciplines to apply their skills toward solution of
space based technical problems.
- SAE Walking Machine
Decathlon - SAE Competition where students have the opportunity to design, build,
and test an intelligent walking machine. The machines must perform
ten tasks that challenge students to think creatively.
- RoboHockey 2000 - Organized by
Canada FIRST have several robotic competition categories.
